Most of you have your new school year underway by now, although I know some families wait until after Labor Day to begin. With a few cooler mornings lately, it certainly feels like back-to-school time. Our back-to-school bowling bash had a great turnout with about 90 folks in attendance.
How exciting to have so many new families joining CHEH this year along with our “veteran” families! For many of you, this is your first year to homeschool. To help you learn the ropes, may I encourage you to try to attend all CHEH events possible. Being around other homeschool families, asking questions, and learning that perfection is not expected, necessary, or possible, should help put your minds at ease in this new season of your lives. Because moms usually carry the majority of the teaching load in most homeschool families, I want to especially encourage you newly homeschooling moms to spend time talking with a “veteran” homeschool mom. Our Mom’s Workshop in October and all Mom’s Night Out events are a great time to fellowship and glean knowledge from other moms.
With so many new families this year, I want to make sure you all are aware of our ministry team. Angela Emmons heads up this team and has several families helping her. Please be sure to inform Angela, or Susan Lippincott if you can’t reach Angela, when your family has a new baby, illness or death of immediate family member, or other crisis or need during which CHEH can minister to you with a meal, visit, or especially prayer. You can also contact Angela if you would like to serve on the ministry team. We want to lift up and minister to one another.
May God richly bless this 2013/2014 school year for your family.
